Rolex Daytona 116520 – Steel

This Rolex Cosmograph Daytona, reference 116520, is a 2011 example presented in excellent condition with its original box and papers.

The 40 mm Oyster case is crafted in 904L Oystersteel, renowned for its toughness and polished finish. A fixed steel bezel engraved with a tachymetric scale highlights the Daytona’s racing heritage, enabling measurement of average speeds. The case is water-resistant to 100 metres, with screw-down pushers and crown ensuring security.

The dial is crisp white with three contrasting sub-dials: 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, 12-hour counter at 9 o’clock, and small seconds at 6 o’clock. Applied hour markers in white gold are filled with Chromalight lume for visibility in low light.

Inside is the Rolex calibre 4130, an in-house automatic chronograph movement with vertical clutch and column wheel. It delivers a 72-hour power reserve, exceptional reliability, and Superlative Chronometer precision. The simplified architecture reduces the number of components, increasing robustness and efficiency.

The watch is fitted with the solid-link Oyster bracelet in Oystersteel, secured by the Oysterlock clasp with Easylink extension for quick comfort adjustment.

The 116520 is a milestone model, marking the first Daytona powered by Rolex’s in-house chronograph calibre. With its steel bezel and timeless design, it has become a highly sought-after reference.
